Messy Is My New Clean

With a 6th baby added to the family, my home is not quite as smooth sailing as it used to be. We are trying to get back on a schedule... somewhat... and we do accomplish some schooling throughout our day but daily tasks are far beyond my reach.

For those of you that know me or have been to my Little Red House, know that I like things neat. A messy home is quickly put back together. With so many people under one roof, it has to be done that way. But...

Since Penelope came to town, I declared messy as my new clean. Clutter as my new friend and an untidy home as a busy home.

A little mess will not hurt anyone even though it drives me NUTS!

But if messy is my new clean, then Im right on schedule ;)

  1. I'm right there with ya!! :) I'm trying to remember that the baby is still only 5 weeks old, though! I need to allow myself a little grace. You too!! Your little one is even newer, and you have more children! Hey, at least you're blogging!! I haven't posted since the baby's been born! :0

  2. I can so relate. I'm grateful that I've had help. I've really needed it! I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know you will, too.

  3. You are not alone, my friend, not alone at all! Enjoy that sweet little baby of yours, b/c, as you know, she will grow up so fast. The mess will wait. : )

  4. First of all, congratulations! I realized I never left a comment after Baby Penelope was born to say that.

Second, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Your house still looks way cleaner than mine and I don't homeschool or have 6 children with an infant in the mix.

I hope you are all doing well!

  5. This reminds of that old poem:
"Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep." – Ruth Hamilton
Enjoy that beautfiful new baby and all your beautiful children, who cares about the house! and oh, CONGRATULATIONS!

  7. I can relate!!! Just relax and enjoy this time with Penelope, the mess will still be there and you will eventually get back on time!!

I like my house clean and neat and tidy, too, but my mother-in-law always used to remind me that "you'll always have cobwebs to sweep, but babies don't keep"
