What a day! Saturday was jam packed to the brim with fun! Last minute we decided to throw everyone in the van and head downtown to Touch a truck. Along with the Saturday market, today they lined the streets with all sorts of trucks and vans and boats and kindly let the kids destroy ... ooppss, I mean.. play with them. After much coaxing, Noah excitedly jumped into the excavator.
We waited in line and played with some trucks and then visited the Downtown market. It was a hot morning but thankfully the shade of Main street kept us just right. As usual, the market was filled with environmentally green crazed, friendly yuppies, expensive coffee and outrageously priced produce, but we enjoyed ourselves. We listened to the wonderful live music they had and enjoyed the day.
Downtown is one of our FAVORITE places!!! Its one of the reasons why we moved down here. It was a small enough city to get to know, yet held anything we wanted and needed. Including, theatre, play, dining galore and fountains after fountains after fountains. We have lived here for almost 2 years and still discover nooks and crannies to this city every time we walk thru. Beauty is hidden everywhere. When date night rolls around or we are bored on a weekend afternoon, downtown is always where we go!
They are expanding and construction tends to make some areas a bit of an eyesore but when its done, the results will be stunning!!! Hubby and I always joke on how when we are empty nesters, we would love to have a condo on Main and stroll the streets every day. Perhaps one day!
After our Downtown excursion ended we went straight to Ocean's Floor... Our "Fishy" store. Unfortunately our family has been mourning the death of Oreo and the ever famous Bob! Replacements were needed. Abigail was thrilled to be surrounded by Nemo's and Dori's and ran thru the store tank by tank naming them all.
We came home with one nameless wonder and he has been in hiding ever since. The owner did have fishy downers (I swear this is true) so the poor fish could still be drugged for all we know!
The rest of the day we spent relaxing at home. I tended to our gardens and we all saw a complete rainbow that came out after a sunny rain. Now Im off to review some Bible stories I will be reading to the class I teach tomorrow.
I hope you all enjoy your day!
