A New Book....

Last night at VBS my friend brought me this book to read. It was just in time. I had JUST finished Minnesota Moonlight (which was GREAT) and I needed something else to dive into at night. Both girls said I would be hooked and finish it within days....

Last night, I came home from VBS (which I forgot to get pictures of...) scurried the kids up th stairs to their beds and quickly jumped into mine. I was so excited to read my new fat big book. have not read any of Francine Rivers works before but everyone that passed by commented on what a great author she is.

Hubby climbed into bed with me and we chatted a bit and caught up on the day and he dozed off.

Me, on the other hand.... not so much. I stayed up WAY past my bedtime and devoured every word. It was addicting and GREAT and sad all at the same time. Im no where near finished. Hubby woke up, looked at the clock and kindly asked me to turn off the light.

I obliged knowing he needed his sleep for the morning...

Tonight, after all the VBS kids are checked in, I will be sitting at the registration table reading my heart out and then...

I will be off to the store to buy a book light, so I can read all night long.

What Christian Fiction books do you enjoy reading???

  2. Francine Rivers!!! love her. I also loved reading the love comes softly series by Janette Oke (they are wayyyyyyy better than the movies they tried to make for halmark based on them. the books are so different and so much more filled with God than the movies).
the Mark of the lion series are my faves by Francine rivers, but all of them are good. i just finished Leotas Garden and it was absolutely fantastic.

  3. The best book ever! I read this book several years ago, could NOT put it down, learned so much from it, and still declare it one of THE VERY BEST Christian fiction books I've ever read. I've seen it going around church and am thinking of picking it up again. How much more will I gleam from it now that my relationship with God has grown so much? Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

  5. Love that book!! After I read that one my sister-in-law sent me the "Mark of the Lion" series by Francine Rivers those books change me and deepened my walk with the Lord. I don't think I can read the bible again the same. It made each word real to me even though the characters in the series are fictional they are based on characters in the bible. You have to make these your next read.

  9. I haven't read anything other than a children's book, or homeschooling book, or parenting book, or marriage book in so long...and I don't know if I've ever read any Christian fiction. Maybe I'll start with this one. Will that be a dangerous thing...or maybe just a little Mother Culture?

Hope you're feeling well. Being pregnant in July can be rough (we celebrate our oldest son's 8th B'day Thursday...it was 103 degrees the morning I walked out the door to have him...spent a lot of time indoors that summer too:)

  10. I loved Redeeming Love! It is actually the first book in that genre that I have read. I have been reading Pathways to a Purpose. There are some books that I just can't put down!
    Peaceful wishes,

  11. Redeeming Love is the best book ever, and they are making a movie now. Just get ready, when you get to the end, just get a couple of boxes of Kleenexes, becuase you will need EVERY ONE of them.
I've been wanting to read it again so bad the last couple of days, but I loaned my copy out, and I think it's being held captive. Might just have to go buy another.

  13. I LOVED this book. I read it last Christmas and couldn't put it down. I recently read a Christian suspense novel called Never Let You Go by Erin Healy. I'm definitely a book worm! Have you read any others by Francine Rivers?
