you crack me up!
I love the new look of your blog!
"Tweens and teens come alive at night... when us parents just want to sleep."There is no truer statement. I grew up in a family with 5 girls and 1 boy, and people often tried to figure out how we were so close to our parents, and the key was, we could talk about anything with our mom and dad and we were never kicked out of their room at night time. We wanted to talk, we would come into their room after any evening out with friends, we would talk about our nights and we would talk random, I remember mom yawning and laying back but never saying we had to leave. Dad was sleeping beside, but every so often he'd ask a question so we knew he was listening to our stories too. I have my own young daughter now, and a few sons and this is a good refresher to me as I just want quiet time in the evenings, to decompress and have the kids in bed, but one day soon, I will have to remember this and open my door and not be too tired to listen or they wont bother coming back to share.
